Can I just say that the "singleness is a blessing" bit runs dry real fast. People like to say that about life too (that it is a blessing), but I happen to know that most of us would just rather skip such blessings and head straight for the good stuff . . . (referring, in this case, to heaven).
Then there is Psalms 27:13 which I have on my white board above my desk. We will find the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living--we don't have to wait for heaven. And we don't have to marry to be incredibly blessed and rewarded in life. I know that. I always have. But please don't put a value on marriage or singleness based on it's own merits. That's absolutely useless. God gives us blessings as He sees fit. Thank's, God, for blessings. Please help me to be gracious to those who believe they have to qualify, categorize, and systematize your blessings in my life.
Finally Woken
Long lay the world in sin and error pining 'Til He appeared and the soul felt its worth A thrill of hope the weary world rejoices For yonder breaks a new and glorous morn.
